Lemuel H. Froneberger Scholarship Program

1. DEADLINE for scholarship applications is March 10, 2023, 5:00 p.m. (No exceptions).
2. Refer to criteria below for eligibility requirements.
3. Refer to application process below for a list of the supporting documents needed (i.e., reference forms, evidence of GPA, etc.) Incomplete applications will not be considered.

6. You may be invited to attend a meet and greet with the members of our fraternity chapter.
7. You will be notified by May if you are selected as a scholarship recipient.

NOTE: Scholarship funds will be awarded to the student upon evidence of registration in an
accredited post-secondary institution.

Purpose: To provide scholarships to at least two (2) deserving Gaston, Cleveland or Lincoln County high school graduating seniors intending to pursue post-high school courses of study at a college/university or other post- secondary educational institution.

Award Components: Awards will be disbursed as a nonrenewable award prior to the beginning of the fall semester.

Criteria:
1. Applicants must be a Gaston, Cleveland or Lincoln county resident.
2. Applicants must be a graduating high school senior in the year of this award.
3. Applicants must be a young man of color – African American or Hispanic descent
4. Applicants must demonstrate positive-impact involvement, evidenced by significant success in
academics, extracurricular activities and community involvement.

Application Process:
Applicant must submit the following items:
1. Completed application form (if handwritten, please print legibly).
2. Letter of application addressed to the Scholarship Committee. The letter should contain a
brief explanation of career goals and biographical (background) information.
3. Two (2) letters of recommendations from choice of high school teachers, administrators,
counselors, employers, or community leaders with significant knowledge of applicant’s experience
and involvement.
4. An official and most recent high school transcript with cumulative grade point average and a
class standing/rank.
5. Personal essay completion.

Deadline for the application is Friday, March 10, 2023. Applications postmarked after this date will not be considered.
